Describe the complete equipment configuration
List the make, model, serial number and location of every machine. Identify fitted forks, jibs, buckets, quick couplers or other attachments and provide the relevant capacity information. Explain what the machine will do on the project. A forklift used with a particular attachment must be considered in that configuration, not described only by its base-machine name.

Distinguish condition from lifting performance
Condition inspection addresses relevant structure, moving parts, controls and safety features. Functional testing checks agreed operating functions. A lifting-system examination or specified load test addresses a further defined question. Ask the quotation to name what is included and excluded. For example, a lifting report should not be assumed to cover every roadworthiness or general machinery issue on a vehicle-mounted crane.

Make the inspection possible on site
Coordinate a suitable inspection area, an authorised operator and the access or isolation needed for the agreed work. Supply operating instructions, maintenance history, earlier reports and details of repairs or recurring faults. Tell the team if a machine cannot be started or moved. Inaccessible parts and unavailable operating functions may limit the findings and require a further visit.

Receive an equipment-by-equipment outcome
Ask for each result to identify the configuration inspected, checks completed, defects, limitations and required corrective action. Separate items available for their agreed duty from items awaiting repair or further assessment. A fleet summary is useful only when it links back to individual machines.
